Happy belated 2011 to our flist! Sweet J here, hoping the new year has started well for all of you. I want to sincerely apologize for my inactivity on the board last year (and the beginning of this year). I started the 1st week of the New Year sick, just like I did last year. I know, I need a new tradition for New Years ... but I digress ...

Poe and I have been hard at work on many large projects which require a lot of thinning, which takes a long time. We always want to deliver the best caps to you, but we are also not trying to excuse the delay. Our New Year's resolution is to be more active on this journal. *polishes our collective halos* :)

Hello to my dearest flist! I, Sweet J, hope the year is still treating all of you well. I'm sorry I've only had one big post this year, but I should be getting more caps online very soon.

First and foremost, I wanted to start with a *very* exciting update. After some thought & consideration, I am officially making my BFF poeland the co-mod of Shadow Graphics!

I've always considered this comm "ours" & now it's official. Poe is the one who inspired me to make this journal &, in addition to helping with the layout, has contributed a large number of the caps you now enjoy. I know all of you will welcome her with open arms & give her the same credit/respect that you have always been so good to give me. So without further ado...


WELCOME NEW MOD POELAND!!!


Since there is two of us now, please credit shadow_graphix only when using the caps to avoid any confusion. When either of us makes a post, we will identify ourselves either as J/Sweet J (me) or poeland goes by "Poe." But the authoritah is the same, of course. *polishes halo*

Now to the nitty-gritty of a rules update: Due to the recent and overwhelming "suck-itude" of many fandoms, we will not cap, or continue capping, the following:

-Dexter
-Harry Potter movies
-House
-Lost
-My Boys
-Prison Break
-Robin Hood (BBC)
-That 70's Show

Now, DO NOT FREAK OUT & flame us with "YOU SUCK! THIS JOURNAL SUCKS! DIAF!!!" I know many of you joined for these shows specifically.

When I say we're not capping them, that means not the way I have been up until this point (every scene, every ep, every season, etc.). We WILL cap these shows/movies on a BY REQUEST BASIS ONLY. (A good example of a request would be "The elevator scene in episode 3" or "the wedding scene in the finale.")

This is a personal journal, and we make caps of things we enjoy, so if something is no longer enjoyable, its priority drops way down. It's called a FANDOM after all. We're also aware that we are providing a service. One of the best things about this journal is getting your comments when we've capped something you like, so we thought this was a fair compromise.

Greetings to my beloved (and ever-growing) flist! I would like to officially wish you a belated Happy New Year! I hope 2010 has started well for all of you. I had a wonderful Christmas, but I spent the 1st week of the New Year being sick. Now that I'm back, I wanted my 1st post of 2010 to update you on what you can expect for the year.

First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank all of YOU for making this such a great comm. Since I created this journal, I have more than 200 mutual friends! That is beyond awesome & I hope shadow_graphix continues to grow.

Greetings to my beloved flist! I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in so long, but real life has been kicking my @$$ lately. Here's what I've been dealing with ... if you care to know ...

-Family drama, specifically dealing with some particularly cutting remarks made to me by ... my grandma. Yes, you heard me. So much for cookie-making and spoiling, huh? *sarcasm* :-/

-My wallet was stolen from my work. So I've been changing all my account info and replacing all my cards.

So basically, I've been dealing with some sh-t I could've done without. I so desperately want to get on here and rant and squee about so many things, but right now I gotta focus on getting everything back on the right track. *adjusts belt à la Matt Foley* it's a little inside, I know

Yet even in spite of all the crap that's been thrown at me, there are things for me (and you) to look forward to:

I purchased a paid MegaUpload account a few weeks ago and have been gradually updating all of the links so they won't break anymore. So you should never again have to deal with the hassle of a broken link. In addition to pwning the links, my BFF poeland helped me update the layouts of each post so the rules are condensed in a format I hope you'll find easier to read.

There was an overwhelming response to my mod post and I want to say a sincere THANK YOU to all of you. You obviously want shadow_graphix to keep running & so do I! I asked for "the love" and you guys delivered! ♥

I definitely want this to be an awesome graphics community, so I wanted to extend another "friendly challenge" to all of you, but this one should be much more fun to do.

I wanted to let you know some of the projects I'm considering and wanted you guys to weigh in! I have lots of options for movies and shows to cap, but the priority level I do each of these in can be up to you guys! The more votes something gets, the faster I'll try (my able best) to get the caps into the community in a timely manner. Check it out!

Behind the cut is a list of movies and TV shows I either own (or have easy access to) that I want to cap & post eventually. I'm planning to do Hairspray and Transformers next, but everything else is fair game. Please comment so I know what to work on! O:)

OVER 100 MEMBERS!!!


Just wanted to say a heart-felt THANK YOU for making this community over 100 members (and counting)! I'm so glad to have all of you to share caps with!

On a more serious note, however, I would like to issue a friendly reminder to ALL members (new and old) ... Every post that I've made carries the reminder to "comment if taking." I've noticed a pattern of people only leaving comments when the links are broken. While I do appreciate it, this is not the kind of commenting I'm looking for.

I spend HOURS capping, thinning and uploading these caps to share them with all of you. I enjoy doing this and all I am asking in return is a comment that takes 30 seconds to write. I don't expect you to write poetry, just let me know that you like them.

Comments serve as feedback to me. It allows me to know what kind of movies/shows you guys like so I can get a feel for what's "in high demand." Believe me, I wanna package what you kids want! I can't do this without your comments, it's that simple.

Though I consider myself "the capping queen," I do have my human limitations. Fortunately for me, I have an amazing BFF who helps me with the cap-making "load."

Frequently, you will see caps posted here made by my BFF poeland. It is therefore important that you check who to credit very carefully. I trust all of you will give her caps all the credit and appreciation you've always given to me.
